Fernhill House hosts evening of sheep tales and Peak District characters
A
25-year-old hill farmer’s daughter will be telling amusing tales
about lambing and the characters who populate her world in the Peak
District at the latest evening talk to be held at Worcester care home
Fernhill House.
Lydia
Slack, who has an MSc in water science, policy and management from
Oxford University, was an intern for the United Nations in New York,
has modelled in London Fashion Week and spent a year volunteering in
Swaziland, began her speaking career when she was just 17.
Her
sharp observational humour has earned her a sizeable following in the
after dinner speaking world and she won a National Federation of
Young Farmers Clubs best speaker award for her amusing account of the
trials and tribulations of being a teenager on a hill farm.
She
will be sharing her observations with residents of the Fernhill Heath
home and members of the public keen for a little entertaining insight
into country life between 6 and 8pm on Wednesday October 18.
Guests
will be treated to drinks and nibbles and the whole event is free of
charge.
