Luxury Worcestershire care home welcomes BBC sports presenter
One of
the BBC’s best known sports presenters is taking to the stage at luxury
Worcestershire care home Fernhill House in the autumn – to entertain residents
and members of the public free of charge.
Garry
Richardson, who has a 40 year pedigree with the Beeb, including a regular slot
on Radio 4’s Today programme and Five Live’s Sportsweek, has reported on seven Olympic Games and
interviewed some of the world’s most famous names including Nelson Mandela,
Bill Clinton, Muhammad Ali, David Beckham, Tiger Woods, John McEnroe, Arnold
Schwarzenegger and Eddie Murphy.
He has also shared an after dinner speaking
platform with legendary showbiz names such as Steven Fry, Dame Diana Rigg, Bob Monkhouse and
Ken Dodd, has been on stage with Jasper Carrot and Alistair McGowan and
appeared in a comedy show with Miranda Hart and Alan Carr.
He will
be speaking on Thursday September 21st between 6pm and 8pm – with
the added lure of free drinks and nibbles for all guests.
Garry is
one of the regular celebrities and special guests invited to speak at the home
to encourage a greater link between the home’s residents, friends and family
and the wider community.
On
Thursday July 27th author and broadcaster Gervaise Phinn, best known
for his autobiographical memoirs set in the Yorkshire Dales, will be recounting
humorous tales of his life working in education.
And on
Thursday August 17th former Irish hotelier Frank Flaherty talks about his world travels
