We recently welcomed children from Hindlip and Tiberton Primary Schools to Fernhill House to spend time with our residents and record a show for their radio club.

On their first visit, residents shared their childhood memories of growing-up and how life was a little different back then! In turn, the pupils spoke about what it’s like to be a kid right now and all their favourites things to do, watch and play.

The get-together went so well that the two schools returned for a second visit of inter-generational chat (as well as some cake and biscuits in our café!). Having thought of some further questions since their last visit, the pupils sat down with residents Irene, Sheila and Marion to find out more about life when they were children themselves.

Irene went first and described her memories of the house she grew up in, including an icy-cold outside toilet and no central heating inside!
