Welcome to the sensational ‘Fine Dining Club’ at Fernhill House care home 🧡

To say the excitement had been building for some time was an understatement! At our Worcester care home, we couldn’t wait for the launch of Fernhill House’s new monthly Fine Dining Club and the chance to sample the gastronomic delights from award-winning head Chef, Matt Knott.

No stranger to fine dining, Matt spent many years working in Rosetted restaurants across the West Midlands including the prestigious, Colwall Park in Malvern. It’s always been his ambition to bring a Chef’s table dining experience to his residents!

A mouth-watering menu

Upon arrival our lovely ladies were treated to elegantly poured Prosecco by Frankie, our Customer Relations Manager followed by the most beautifully presented Seared Scallops, with caramelised and roasted Celeriac and Bramley Apple… the silence as the scallops were tasted and then the delight that followed was magical!

The main course of Venison Loin and Faggot served with Potato Terrine, salt-baked Beetroot and Beetroot Puree with last season’s pickled Blackberrys and a Port and Juniper Jus was served. The sheer joy on our residents’ faces as Matt and General Manager Chip placed the dishes on the table 😍

Matt commented
“This is why I love what I do, that moment when they see the food!”

“To know that I’ve created such a feeling through my passion, it’s the best job in the world!”

The best desserts will always include chocolate 🧡

Dark chocolate mousse placed on a chocolate brownie with a blood orange sorbet. No words needed, just a quiet wonder if licking the plate clean would be noticed!!

Yvonne, resident at Fernhill House and one of this month’s lucky ‘Fine Dining Club’ invitees commented.

“On behalf of us all and we all want to thank you so much.

I have never had, ever,  in all my years had a meal like we’ve had today I thought it was just wonderful.

I want to thank you so much, you’ve worked so hard and it was worth everything, everything. Lovely.”
